6.1.1. External control
The water heater can be connected to a Peak Hours signal, a photovoltaic own consump-
tion signal or a Smart Grid signal.
• Peak Hours signal:
In this mode, the electric backup or heat pump and electric backup can only operate when
the signal is present.
• Connecting to a photovoltaic station:
When connecting to a photovoltaic system, it is possible to store the surplus energy pro-
duced by the photovoltaic system, almost free of charge, in the form of hot water in the
water heater. Once the photovoltaic installation has sucient energy, the installation's
inverter automatically sends a signal to the water heater, which activates forced operation
of the heat pump. If the signal from the inverter is interrupted, the water heater automati-
cally returns to the previously selected operating mode after 10 minutes.
In photovoltaic mode, the operating ranges are xed. It is possible to select Smart Grid
mode to allow the operating ranges to be modied.
Without a photovoltaic signal, the system is authorised to operate using one of the follow-
ing 2 settings:
• day only, from 10 am to 5 pm
• day and night, if necessary
