5. Installation
5.1. Selecting the installation site
Install the water heater in a frost-protected room.
Position it as close as possible to the main loads.
Insulate its piping if the device is installed outside of premises sunitable as living
space (storage rooms, garages). The ambient temperature around the water heater
must not exceed 40 °C.
Make sure the bearing element on which the unit is mounted can support the weight
of the unit lled with water.
Provide 500 mm clearance in front of each electrical component to facilitate the heat-
ing element's periodic servicing.
If the unit is set up on a false ceiling, the attic or above living space, a drain pan is to
be installed underneath the water heater. A drainage connected to the sewer system
is required.
5.2. Minimum room surface area
In accordance with standard IEC 60335-2-40 (safety and environmental requirements
for heat pumps) covering uid charges below 1.842 kg, the tank and all refrigerant lines
passing through the inhabited space must be installed in premises that conform to the
data below.
Premises without mechanical ventilation:
Installation in premises not containing any other electrical devices or switches
(restrictions relating to toxicity).
The surface area of the premises must be greater than 1 m
2
*.
Please note: The above surface area applies to a ceiling height of 2.5 m. If the ceiling height is not 2.5 m, and is
equal to the H value in metres, multiply the above value by 2.5/H.
Installation in premises containing at least one other electrical device or switch
(restrictions relating to ammability)
The surface area of the premises must be greater than 6 m
2
*.
*In both cases, if the room has natural ventilation openings or grilles that meet the size and positioning criteria
specied in the following section, the surface area of the adjacent room may be taken into account when calculating
the minimum surface area.
It is strictly prohibited to install the product in a room with a soundproof (sealed) door,
as the product requires natural ventilation using ambient air.
