2.1 Servicing brake calipers
Note
♦ Install complete repair kit when servicing.
♦ New brake calipers are filled with brake fluid and are pre-bled.
♦ Apply a thin coat of assembly paste - G 052 150 A2- to brake
cylinder, piston and seal.
♦ After servicing and installing brake caliper, bleed brake system
⇒ page 154 .
1 - Caps
❑ Insert into bearing bush
2 - Guide pins, 30 Nm
3 - Bleeder valve, 10 Nm
❑ Before screwing in,
grease thread with thin
coat of assembly paste -
G 052 150 A2- .
4 - Protective cap
❑ Push onto bleeder valve
5 - Brake caliper housing
6 - Retaining spring
❑ Insert with both ends in
the holes in brake cali‐
per housing
Note
The retaining spring must be press‐
ed under the brake carrier after in‐
serting into both holes. If incorrectly
installed, the wear of the outer pad
cannot be adjusted, and the pedal
travel will be increased as a result.
7 - Bearing bush
❑ Insert into brake caliper
housing
8 - Brake carrier
❑ Bolt to brake caliper
housing
9 - Seal
10 - Piston
❑ Apply a thin coat of assembly paste - G 052 150 A2- to piston before inserting
11 - Protective cap
❑ Do not damage when inserting piston
