8 - Wheel bolts
Fitting wheels ⇒ Wheel/Tyre Guide
9 - Brake line connection to brake hose
Tightening torque: 12 Nm
10 - Brake line
Screw into brake caliper housing
Screw into brake hose, counter hold on brake hose hexagon.
Do not twist hose when fitting
Ensure that lugs are properly seated in grooves in bracket.
11 - Brake line connection to brake caliper
Tightening torque: 19 Nm
12 - Bracket
Bolt to brake caliper housing
Attach brake line
13 - Hexagon bolt M 8 x 16
Tightening torque: 25 Nm
14 - Brake caliper housing
If assembly work is required, do not leave caliper hanging from brake hose but secure it to body with
wire
With the exception of “Renewing brake pads” ⇒ page 72 and “Servicing front brake caliper”, no repairs
may be performed on the brake caliper.
Do not twist hose when installing
15 - Retaining spring
Note correct installation position.
Note
The retaining spring must be push‐
ed under the brake carrier after en‐
gaging onto both studs. If incorrectly
installed, the wear of the outer pad
cannot be adjusted, and the pedal
travel will be increased as a result.
3.2 Removing and installing brake pads (PR
1LJ/1LL)
When renewing the brake pads, also check the brake disc for
wear. Refer to wear limit for brake disc
⇒ “1.2 Brakes, technical data”, page 1 .
Removing
Note
Mark brake pads when removing them if they are to be rein‐
stalled. Reinstall in their original position to prevent uneven
braking.
When installing brake discs, note direction of travel -indicated
by arrow on brake disc- and fitting location -left or right-.
Raise vehicle.
