6.1 Removing and installing brake light
switch
Note
♦
The brake light switch must be removed in order to adjust it.
♦
To ensure a secure fit and reliable adjustment, the brake light
switch may only be installed once.
Removing
– Remove driver's storage compartment ⇒ Rep. gr. 68 .
– Unplug electrical connector.
– Turn brake light switch anti-clockwise through 45° and re‐
move.
Installing
Install in reverse sequence, paying attention to the following:
– Pull out plunger of brake light switch as far as it will go
-arrow-.
Note
On some types it is not necessary to pull out the plunger prior to
installation. The method of installation is the same.
– Fit retainer tabs -1- and -2- on switch into recesses in mounting
hole.

When installing, brake pedal must not be pressed.
♦
The plunger adjusts itself automatically when the brake light
switch is inserted.
