Audi A6 2005 - Detaching and Attaching Front Brake Caliper - RS 6

7 - Pad wear indicator wire
❑ On left and right brake caliper
❑ On inner brake pad
8 - Pad retaining pins
❑ Ensure correct installation position
❑ Press through as far as possible from inside to outside
9 - Bolt
❑ For centre retaining pin
❑ 30 Nm
❑ Renew
10 - Pad retaining spring
❑ Ensure correct installation position
11 - Brake line connection to brake caliper
❑ Tightening torque: 19 Nm
❑ Do not loosen unless renewing brake caliper
12 - Bolt
❑ For bracket for brake line
❑ 10 Nm
13 - Bracket
❑ Bolt to brake caliper housing
❑ Attach brake line

Always use new bolts ⇒ ETKA .
Detaching
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Torque wrench - V.A.G 1332-
♦ Ratchet - V.A.G. 1332/1-
♦ Piston resetting appliance - T10145-
– Raise vehicle.
– Remove wheels.
– Unclip brake hose from retainer on wheel bearing housing.
– Unclip pad wear indicator wire.
Note
It might be necessary to press the brake pads back with the piston
resetting appliance - T10145- . To do so, position the tool at the
backing plates of the installed brake pads and press the brake
pads back carefully.
