– Remove multi-point socket head bolts -1- and -3-, tightening
torque 25 Nm.
– Take out body brace -2-.
– Open brake fluid reservoir.
– As protection against escaping brake fluid, place a sufficient
number of lint-free cloths in area beneath brake master cylin‐
der.
– Use upgrade kit and extraction unit - V.A.G 1869/4- or brake
filling and bleeding equipment - VAS 5234- to extract as much
brake fluid as possible from brake fluid reservoir.
– Unscrew securing bolt -1- for brake fluid reservoir.
– Unplug connector -2-.
Note
Protect the plenum chamber against any brake fluid which es‐
capes.
– Disconnect brake line and seal with sealing plug.
– To remove reservoir, press down locking lug and at the same
time pull brake fluid reservoir out of sealing plugs.
