The PEAK detector should be used when the SELECTIVE filter is not
used, since the peak-equivalent is not very meaningful unless the
measured signal is sinusoidal. AES standards call for peak-detected
jitter measurements.
The lower center soft key controls the low-frequency limit of the jitter
detector. It may be limited with a 700 Hz highpass filter or a 50 Hz
highpass filter. The 700 Hz highpass filter is used for residual jitter
measurements according to AES standards, and the 50 Hz highpass
filter is used for jitter response measurements.
The INPUT A and INPUT B buttons toggle between the rear panel
inputs (an ‘I’ is shown in the reading displays) and the internal
gen-mon path (a ‘G’ is shown in the reading displays).
