The upper center soft key controls the Pre-emphasis indicator bits.
These bit can be set to indicate that there is pre-emphasis, or that there
is none. Changing this setting does not change the pre-emphasis of
the signal itself, only the state of the indicator bit. The ATS-1 Dual
Domain does not provide pre-emphasis.
The upper right soft key controls the bits that indicate the sample rate
of the data. Sample rates of 48 kHz, 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, and Not
Indicated (N.I.) are available. There is also an AUTO setting, which
will set these bits automatically depending on the selected sample rate.
Changing this setting does not affect the sample rate, only the state of
the sample rate indicator bits.
The lower left soft key changes depending on the Consumer/
Professional mode. In Consumer mode, this soft key controls the
Copyright bit. This status bit provides copy protection to the program
material. It has two states: copy permitted (OK) and copy prohibited
(NO). In Professional mode, this soft key controls the indicator of the
signal’s origin. The origin can be blank, or it can be indicated as
coming from an ‘AP1D’, ‘TEST’, ‘SRC1’, ‘SRC2’, or ‘SRC3’.
The lower center soft key is not used in Consumer mode. In
Professional mode, it controls the indicator of the signal’s destination.
The destination can be blank, or it can be indicated as intended for an
‘AP1D’, ‘TEST’, ‘DES1’, ‘DES2’, or ‘DES3’.
The origin and destination indicators can be used to identify the test
signal in remote applications. For example, if the ATS-1 Dual Domain
is located in a different room from the device under test, these
indicators can be used to verify that the signals are correctly routed.
The lower right soft key controls the validity flag. This bit can be used
to indicate whether the data is valid or invalid.
