1 OXYGEN 4 SERIES - INTRODUCTION
The Oxygen 4 is a specially designed On-Air broadcast console. The console is fully modular, which
means flexibility in the configuration. The Mono, Stereo, Telco and Telephone input modules can be
placed anywhere in the chassis. A partially loaded Oxygen 4 can be completed using low cost 'blind’
(cover) modules. The modular approach to the design means that module replacement, or expansion of
the system can be carried out quickly and efficiently.
Telephone modules feature a built-in, high quality telephone hybrid and Telco modules can be interfaced
to every external hybrid.
Oxygen 4’s wide range of functions provides the most immediate and complete control over your radio
broadcasting. For instance, it provides: Start/Stop commands, Studio - Control Room speakers cut-off,
phantom microphone powering. All input/output connections are balanced on 1/4” jacks for Line signals
and on regular XLR connectors for mics. The Oxygen 4 has also extensive possibilities for signaling and
communications. Mono modules allow to activate ON-AIR lamps, a TalkBack circuitry permits the easiest
communication between Control Room and Speaker booth.
Oxygen 4 console is available in four frame sizes: the Frame 10, which can contain 10 overall modules, the
Frame 20 and the Frame 30. A MeterHood frame version (named VMH) is also available, which presents
four traditional, needle backlit Vu Meters housed in an elegant meterbridge. A practical script tray may be
fitted on both Frame 30 and VMH models.
1.1 OXYGEN 4 – AVAILABLE FRAME SIZE
The frames are inox steel + aluminium made, with wood finishing touch. Each console has always two output
modules (Master/Sub and Monitor) to the far right which controls the Studio/Control Room monitoring, pre-fade listen and
talkback functions together with the output selection (Stereo / Mono) of the Master and Sub signals. The meter bridge
contains four VU / PPM meters with user control over the source (Tuner, Master, Sub, PFL) to be displayed on the
meters.
