Free-play plates
The gap between the spring (fig. 38, in
blue) and the locknut (fig. 38, in green)
enables light movement of plates. A
small opening of the plates is then
lighter than a large one.
Adjusting free-play plates
- Move the locknut (fig. 38, in
green) away from the spring to
secure more free-play.
Movement of the knife part
It is necessary to inhibit movement of
the knife part so knives do not collide.
- Loosen set nuts
- First move one bolt (fig. 39, in
red) while the knife part (fig. 39,
in yellow) is in contact with it
- Move as much as possible
without the knives colliding.
- Fasten the bolt.
- Repeat in the other direction.
