What should I do if the Current Loop compensation test fails on my Baldor MintDrive?

  If the Current Loop compensation test fails on your Baldor Controller, and if your MintDrive has an internal 24VDC supply, verify the mains is powered and connected. Check the motor UVW cable and the feedback cable connections. Repeat the test. Power-cycle the unit and repeat the test. Click the Calculate button and use this value or enter the Current proportional gain manually and proceed to the feedback alignment test.

  If no LEDs are illuminated on your Baldor Controller, check that the 24VDC power supply is connected on connector X1 and is switched on. Also, verify that the mains supply is connected and switched on.

What to do if Mint WorkBench doesn't detect the Baldor MintDrive?

  If Mint WorkBench fails to detect the MintDrive and detects “Controller with No Firmware” on the serial port, ensure the MintDrive is powered and the LEDs are illuminated. Check that the RS232 cable is connected between the PC serial port and connector X7 on the MintDrive. Check the wiring of the RS232 cable or try an alternate cable. If available, try an alternative serial port on the PC. Confirm that a mouse driver or other serial device is not conflicting with Mint WorkBench.

  If the Speed Controller Calculations test fails, and if your MintDrive has the internal 24VDC supply, check that the mains is powered and connected. Also, check that the motor UVW cable and the feedback cable are connected.

Why can't I enable the Baldor MintDrive with AXISERROR bit 13 set?

  If you cannot enable the MintDrive because AXISERROR has bit 13 set, check the drive enable input on connector X13-1 and X13-12 is connected and that the input is enabled. Also, verify that you have configured the MintDrive.

What causes motor instability when the Baldor MintDrive is enabled?

  If the motor is unstable when the MintDrive is enabled, retune the current loop if a “Lost User Data” error occurred recently. Ensure the current loop has been tuned with the correct motor data. If instability persists after removing Mint gains, reduce the Speed Proportional gain and Speed Integral gain.

  If the message 'Variables corrupted. Use RELEASE.' appears at power-up, type RELEASE in the Terminal window to clear variables from the variable stack. If the problem persists, it indicates a battery issue. Trickle charge the MintDrive’s battery by leaving the unit powered for 24~48 hours. If the problem still persists contact Baldor Technical Support.

  If there is a Logic supply fault on your Baldor Controller, check that 24VDC is being supplied to the MintDrive. Try replacing the power supply. If the problem persists, contact Baldor Technical Support.

  If you get a Following Error (AXISERROR bit 5 is set) and the drive disables when tuning the Mint gains, set FOLERRORMODE to zero to ignore the following error while tuning the Mint gains.
