3.1.3 The pylon SDK
After the Basler pylon 4 Camera Software Suite has been installed on your PC, you can access all
of the camera’s parameters and can control the camera’s full functionality from within your
application software by using the pylon API. The pylon Programmer’s Guide and the pylon API
Reference contain an introduction to the API and include information about all of the methods and
objects included in the API. The programmer’s guide and API reference are included in the Basler
pylon 4 Camera Software Suite.
The Basler pylon SDK includes a set of sample programs that illustrate how to use the pylon API to
parameterize and operate the camera. These samples include Microsoft® Visual Studio® solution
and project files demonstrating how to set up the build environment to build applications based on
the API.
