9-5.4.2.Repair
CAUTION: To prevent damage, use proper pipe
clamp vise. The cylinder will be distorted
if the vise is tightened too much.
1. Remove nut, lock washer and bolt.
2. Remove clevis from piston rod.
3. In necessary, remove retaining ring and bearing
from clevis.
4. Remove gland nut from tube.
5. Remove dust seal, seal and O-ring from gland
nut.
6. Pull piston rod out of tube.
7. Remove seals and wear ring from piston rod.
8. If necessary, remove bearing from tube.
9. Coat all parts with hydraulic oil (Table 3-2).
10. Install bearing in tube.
11. Install seals and wear ring on piston rod.
12. Install piston rod in cylinder body.
13. Install dust seal, seal and O-ring in gland nut.
14. Install gland nut in tube.
15. Install bearing and retaining rings in clevis.
16. Install clevis on piston rod and secure with bolt ,
lock washer and nut.
9-5.4.3.Installation
1. Position the cylinder between the outer mast and
the truck frame.
2. Support the tilt cylinder and install shaft, flat
washer, lock washer and bolt.
3. Install shaft flat washer, lock washer and bolt.
4. Reconnect hoses to the tilt cylinders.
5. Fill the hydraulic reservoir. Use hydraulic oil listed
in Table 3-2.
6. Reconnect the batteries and turn on the key-
switch.
7. Operate the tilt buttons to refill the cylinder and
lines with hydraulic oil.
8. Check level of hydraulic oil. If required, add
hydraulic oil to bring to proper level. Use hydraulic
oil listed in Table 3-2.
9. Install the front compartment covers as described
in paragraph 5-3.
