Ethernet Port (QSFP) Status LEDs
On the Brocade 7850 Extension Switch, you find 2 bicolor LEDs (green/amber) for the 2 Ethernet QSFP ports (GbE ports
16–17).
Use the following table to interpret the Ethernet QSFP port status LEDs.
Table 15: Ethernet QSFP Port Status LED Patterns during Normal Operation
LED Color Hardware Status Recommended Action
No light The port has no incoming power, or there is
no light or signal carrier detected.
Verify that the power LED is on, and check
the transceiver and cable.
Steady green The port is online (connected to an external
device) but has no traffic.
No action is required.
Steady amber The port is receiving light or signal carrier,
but it is not online yet.
No action is required.
Flickering green The port is online with traffic flowing
through the port.
No action is required.
Interpreting Nonport-Side LEDs
Use the following tables to interpret the power supply and fan assembly status LED during normal operation.
Table 16: Power Supply Status LED Patterns during Normal Operation
LED Color Hardware Status Recommended Action
No light The power supply is not receiving power or
is off.
Verify that the power supply is on and
seated and that the power cord is
connected to a functioning power source.
Steady green The power supply is operating normally. No action is required.
Flashing green (for more than 5 seconds) The power supply is faulty for one of the
following reasons:
•
The assembly is switched off (flashing
for ~ 5 seconds, then off).
•
The power cable is disconnected
(flashing for ~ 5 seconds, then off).
•
The power supply has failed.
When the device is first powered on, the
power supply status LED flashes until the
POST has been completed.
Try one of the following options:
•
Check the power cable connection.
•
Verify that the assembly is powered on.
•
Replace the power supply.
Table 17: Fan Assembly Status LED Patterns during Normal Operation
LED Color Hardware Status Recommended Action
No light The fan assembly is not receiving power or
is off.
Verify that the fan assembly is on and
seated and that the power cord is
connected to a functioning power source.
Steady green The fan assembly is operating normally. No action is required.
