Start the Calix integrated Management
System
You start the iMS by entering the IP address of the Calix C7 shelf into your browser.
One-time install of the Java Runtime Environment
The first time you start the Calix iMS, you may be prompted to:
• Install the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Follow the
instructions on the screen to complete the install.
• Review a Java Plug-in Security message. Click Grant Always after reviewing the
security message.
Procedure to start the Calix iMS from the front Ethernet (E1) port
Step Action
1.
Start Internet Explorer, then in the Address box enter 192.168.1.1 for the
front Ethernet port (E1) IP address of the Calix C7.
Note: You can enter other IP addresses assigned to the Calix C7 shelf after
you configure the Ethernet port to your standards.
2.
On the initial screen, click Calix iMS.
3.
When the dialog box displays Do you
want to close this window?, click Yes.
4.
On the Login to iMS dialog box:
a. In the User box,
type sysadmin.
b. In the Password box,
type sysadmin.
c. Click OK.
NOTE: To ensure system security, Calix recommends changing the default
sysadmin user name and password after logging in for the first time.
