The camera has 45 AF points for autofocusing. You can select the AF
area selection mode and AF point(s) suiting the scene or subject.
You can select one of four AF area selection modes. For the selection
procedure, see the next page.
E:Single-point AF
(Manual selection)
Select one AF point to focus.
F:Zone AF
(Manual selection of zone)
One of nine focusing zones is used to
focus.
G: Large Zone AF
(Manual selection of zone)
One of three focusing zones (left, center,
and right) is used to focus.
H: Automatic selection AF
The Area AF frame (entire AF area) is
used to focus.
S Selecting the AF Area and AF Point
AF Area Selection Mode
Depending on the lens used, the number of usable AF points, AF point
patterns, Area AF frame shape, etc. vary. For details, see “Lenses and
Usable AF Points” on page 137.
