Preparingforstorage
Thefollowingprocedureapplieswhenthemachineistobestoredforamonthormore.Storethemachineonat,
levelground,insideabuildingor,ifnotpossible,outsideandcoveredwithatarpaulin.Beforestoringthemachine,
carryoutthefollowingoperations:
1.Cleanthemachine.
2.Makesurethatthemachinehasnodamagedormiss-
ingparts.Replacethemifnecessary.
3.Retractthecylinderrodsasforaspossibleandlower
theboomuntiltheattachmentisrestingontheground.
4.Greasethemachinethoroughly.Theexposedsurfaces
ofthecylinderrodsshouldbegreasedorcoveredwitha
protectivelm.ConsultyourCASECONSTRUCTION
Dealer.
NOTE:Whenthemachineresumesservice,thelmwill
disappearautomatically.
5.Whiletheengineisstillwarm,draintheoilsump,re-
placetheoillterandllwithspeciedoil.Checkthe
oillevelandaddmoreifnecessary.
6.Cleanorreplacetheairlterelement.
7.Checkthelevelofcoolantsolution.Ifthemachineis
within100hoursofthenextscheduledcoolantchange,
changethecoolantnow.
8.Removethebatteries,cleanthebatteryhousingsand
makesurenottoleaveanytracesofacid.Storethe
batteriessafelyinacoolanddrylocation,wherethe
temperatureishigherthan0°C(32.0°F)ordisconnect
thecablefromthenegative(-)terminal.
9.Paintanyareaswherethepaintworkisnotgood.
10.Plugtheairlterinletandtheexhaustpipe.
11.Removetheignitionkeyandplacea"Donotoper-
ate"labelontheright-handcontrolarmandthenplace
thefunctioncancellationleverinthecentralposition
(safetybarininwardposition).
12.Lockthehoods,sidedoorsandthecabdoor.
