orthebatterytoreceiveinsufcientcharge.

Withengineshutdownandthestarterswitchkeyre-
moved,useyourngertoexertapressureofabout10kg
(22.0lb)atthecentreofthebelt.
Thetensionslackshouldbebetweenabout6mm(0.2in)
and8mm(0.3in).
NOTE:Checkifthereareanysignsofweardamageto
thepulleysorthebelt.
Checkcarefullytoensurethatthebeltiscorrectlyposi-
tionedinthepulleygrooves.
Ifthebeltisstretched,crackedorfrayed,itmustbere-
placed.

Tensionadjustment
Removetheretainingscrews(1)and(2).Usetheadjust-
mentscrews(3)tomovethealternatoroutwardsuntilbelt
tensioniscorrect.Tightenthealternatormountingbolts
(1)and(2).
