“OperationalInstance”(ifpresent)
Inmanycases,anoperationisonlyperformedonceina
eldforacroptypeinagrowingseason:plowing,seed-
ing,harvesting,etc.However,therearecircumstances
wherethesameoperationneedstobeperformedmore
thanonceinagrowingseasonforacroptype.The“Oper-
ationalInstance”windowisavailabletoseparatethedata
thatiscollectedfortherstoperationfromanyrepeated
operations.
Forexample:
•
Whenheavyrainsoodareasofaeld,andacrop
typemustbereplanted,incrementthevalueinthe“Op-
erationalInstance”windowto“Plant2”forthesecond
planting.Thecoveragedatafromtherstplantingdoes
noteffectthesecondplantinginsectionoroverlapcon-
trol,andthetotalappliedacreagedoesnotconictwith
thetotaleldacres.
•
Itmaybenecessarytoapplyherbicidemultipletimes
tocontrolinvasiveweeds.Thesameproductisap-
pliedtothesamecroptypeinthesameeldontwoor
moreseparateoccasions.Useadifferentoperational
instanceforeachapplicationofherbicide.Inthisway,
thecoveragedatafromtherstapplicationdoesnotaf-
fectthesecondapplicationinsectionoroverlapcontrol,
andthetotalappliedacreagedoesnotconictwiththe
totaleldacres.
Uniquedata–coverage,“asapplied,”orperformance–
isstoredforeachinstanceoftheoperation.Whenanew
instanceiscreatedorselectedwiththewindow,datacol-
lectionbeginsforthenewinstance,andanewtaskiscre-
ated.
Anewoperationalinstancecanonlybecreatedorse-
lectedwhenthevehicleisnotworking–thatis,nodatais
beingcollected.
