Validations
Exhaust
The Exhaust validation test determines if adequate exhaust ow is achievable at the 3 different stages during a
run: idle, ramping/holding with the vent blower on, and cooling with the vent blower and cooling fan on.
1. Press the System Menu icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Press “Tools” and the “Utilities” tab.
3. Locate “Exhaust Validation” and press “Start.”
4. Follow instructions located on the screen to complete verication.
5. If any of the validation points fail, a red “X” will appear. Verify that the exhaust requirements have been met
as outlined in the “System Specications” section of this manual. If the exhaust requirements have been met,
contact CEM Service.
WARNING
DO NOT attempt unit operation if the “Exhaust Validation” test fails. Verify that exhaust
requirements have been met and then contact CEM Service.
Temperature
Contact CEM Corporation or one of its authorized dealers.
Autosampler
The Autosampler validation test veries the calibration of all rack positions and the attenuator.
1. Press the System Menu icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
2. Press “Tools” and the “Utilities” tab.
3. Locate Autosampler and press “Validate.”
4. Follow instructions located on the screen to complete calibration.
5. If the validation procedure fails at any point, the test will automatically stop and an error will appear. Ensure
that the racks were in position and empty, a vial and cap are in the attenuator and the door is shut. If the vali-
dation fails again, perform an Autosampler Calibration as outlined in the “Calibrations” section of this manual.
