Place the DIMM in an antistatic bag to protect it from ESD damage.
Step 6 Replace the chassis cover. See the “Remove and Replace Chassis Cover” section on page 5-4..
Install DIMM
Note The DIMMS on the Cisco 4400 Series ISRand Cisco 4300 Series ISR are not interchangeable.
To install a DIMM:
Step 1 Read the “Safety Warnings” section on page 5-2 section and disconnect the power supply before you
replace any module.
Step 2 Remove the chassis cover. For the Cisco 4451-X ISRs, see the “Remove and Replace Chassis Cover”
section on page 5-4.
Step 3 Locate the DIMM module. See the “Locate Internal and External Slots for Modules on Cisco 4451 ISR”
section on page 5-8 to find the DIMM sockets on the router.
Step 4 Make sure that both latches on the DIMM connector are in the open position.
Step 5 Orient the DIMM so that the polarization notch lines up with the polarization key on the connector. See
Figure 5-23.
