Optional Serial Port
The computer may include an optional second serial port. This port is installed in an expansion card
slot, and you can use expansion card removal and replacement procedures to remove and install it.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (

2. Remove the computer access panel (
Computer Access Panel on page 66).
3. Disconnect the serial port cable from the system board.
4. Remove the port assembly using the same procedure used to remove an expansion card. See
Expansion Cards on page 73 for more information.
To install the serial port, reverse the removal procedure.
