Chapter 4. LPOD ETHERNET
MANAGEMENT
4.1 Overview
The sections that follow describe the functionality of the LPOD Ethernet (HTTP) Interface. Please
refer to the Remote Commands Specifications tables found in Appendix B. REMOTE
CONTROL for detailed descriptions of the configuration parameters featured on the individual
Web pages depicted in this section.
4.2 Ethernet Management Interface Protocols
The LPOD 100BaseT/10BaseTx Ethernet Management Interface supports three (3) different
management protocols:
• SNMP with public and private MIB
• Telnet interface for remote product M&C
• Web Server interface for complete product management
4.3 SNMP Interface
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an application-layer protocol designed to
facilitate the exchange of management information between network devices. The LPOD SNMP
agent supports both SNMPv1 and v2c.
IMPORTANT
For proper SNMP operation, the LPOD MIB files must be used with the
associated version of the LPOD M&C. Please refer to the LPOD FW Release
Notes for information on the required FW/SW compatibility.
