3 Perform a function test of the detector as explained in section Aspirating Smoke
Detectors, page 12.
Hint!
A CFD5000 loop unit can be replaced (with a new loop unit of the
same type and address) without having to power down or restart the
loop or the fire detection system.
CAUTION!
Always verify that the replaced unit has restored correct functionality of the system.
Replacing the smoke detector only
1 Unlock and remove the box cover.
2 Unscrew the detector head counterclockwise, lift it up from the base plate and turn it
over.
3 Check the address settings for the faulty detector. Refer to the section below.
4 Set the address DIP switch on the back of the new detector to the same address as the
replaced detector.
(For settings use a pointed tool of suitable size.)
5 After setting the address, remove the label attached to the detector and use it to seal the
address switch.
6 Reinstall the detector, remove the protective cover and lock the box cover.
7 Check and reset any fault codes generated by the replaced faulty detector.
8 Perform a function test of the detector as explained in section Test smoke detection,
page 12.
CAUTION!
Be sure to remove the protective cover from the detector.
Replacing the radial fan only
1 Unlock and remove the box cover.
