Command Parameters
show stp mst_config_id

enable stp
Purpose
Used to globally enable STP on the Switch.
Syntax enable stp
Description
This command allows the Spanning Tree Protocol to be globally enabled on the Switch.
Parameters
None.
Restrictions
Only Administrator and Operator and Power-User-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To enable STP, globally, on the Switch:
DES-3528:admin# enable stp
Command: enable stp
Success.
disable stp
Purpose
Used to globally disable STP on the Switch.
Syntax disable stp
Description
This command allows the Spanning Tree Protocol to be globally disabled on the Switch.
Parameters
None.
Restrictions
Only Administrator and Operator and Power-User-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To disable STP on the Switch:
DES-3528:admin# disable stp
Command: disable stp
Success.
config stp version
Purpose
Used to globally set the version of STP on the Switch.
Syntax config stp version [mstp | rstp | stp]
Description
This command allows the user to choose the version of the spanning tree to be implemented
on the Switch.
Parameters mstp – Selecting this parameter will set the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) globally
on the Switch.
rstp − Selecting this parameter will set the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) globally on
the Switch.
stp − Selecting this parameter will set the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) globally on the
Switch.
Restrictions
Only Administrator and Operator and Power-User-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
