Forwarding Database Commands
The layer 2 forwarding database commands in the Command Line Interface (CLI) are listed (along with the
appropriate parameters) in the following table.

create fdb
Purpose
Used to create a static entry to the unicast MAC address forwarding table (database).
Syntax create fdb <vlan_name 32> <macaddr> [port <port> | drop]
Description
This command will make an entry into the Switch’s unicast MAC address forwarding
database.
Parameters
<vlan_name 32> − The name of the VLAN on which the MAC address resides.
<macaddr> − The MAC address that will be added to the forwarding table.
port <port> − The port number corresponding to the MAC destination address. The Switch
will always forward traffic to the specified device through this port.
drop - Specifies that all the ports specified will drop the packet of the previously configured
MAC
Restrictions
Only Administrator and Operator and Power-User-level users can issue this command
