that
you insert
the
telephone
line
connector

modem
until it clicks.

Disconnect

modem and connect
it to
a telephone. Listen
for
a dial
tone.

you have other telephone devices sharing the line, such

an answering machine, fax machine, sur

splitter,
bypass

devices and connect

modem directly

line that
