B-SCAN PROBE (DGH1912, DGH1920)—GENERAL CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
NOTE: Disinfecon should be performed aer general cleaning.
NOTE: Wear protecve gloves when performing general cleaning or disinfecon.
GENERAL CLEANING: Disconnect the probe from the probe cable. Using 70% isopropyl alcohol
(70% IPA) and a cloth or so bristle brush, scrub the hard plasc surfaces of the probe. Rinse the
probe in dislled, sterile or deionized water. Surfaces of the probe may be dried with a so
towel or gauze.
DISINFECTION: Immerse the probe lens (paent contact area), plus an addional 2 cm of the
probe in the desired soluon. Allow the probe to soak for the necessary amount of me. The B-
Scan probe is hermecally sealed and may be completely immersed in the disinfecng soluon,
if necessary. However, this should be reserved for rare cases where it is judged by the clinician
that the enre probe has been contaminated. Rinse the probe in dislled, sterile or de-ionized
water. Thoroughly dry the probe using sterile gauze. The probe should be allowed to completely
dry prior to storage.
B-SCAN ADAPTER (ADAPTER-200)—GENERAL CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
CAUTION: The B-Scan adapter cannot be autoclaved.
The B-Scan adapter is not sold sterile, and must be cleaned and disinfected before each use.
Remove the rubber o-ring from inside the adapter. Clean and disinfect both the adapter and o-
ring using FDA and EPA approved cleaning and disinfecon products. The soluons must be
compable with polycarbonate and Kynar plasc. Follow the instrucons on the cleaning and
disinfectant labels.
CLEARSCAN® PROBE COVERS
CAUTION: The ClearScan® is provided sterile. An expiraon date is located on each
ClearScan® package. Verify that the ClearScan® has not expired before use.
ClearScan® covers cannot be reused. Dispose of the ClearScan® cover aer use.
