B-SCAN PROBE (DGH1912, DGH1920)—GENERAL CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
NOTE: Disinfecon should be performed aer general cleaning.
NOTE: Wear protecve gloves when performing general cleaning or disinfecon.
GENERAL CLEANING: Disconnect the probe from the probe cable. Using 70% isopropyl alcohol
(70% IPA) and a cloth or so bristle brush, scrub the hard plasc surfaces of the probe. Rinse the
probe in dislled, sterile or deionized water. Surfaces of the probe may be dried with a so
towel or gauze.
DISINFECTION: Immerse the probe lens (paent contact area), plus an addional 2 cm of the
probe in the desired soluon. Allow the probe to soak for the necessary amount of me. The B-
Scan probe is hermecally sealed and may be completely immersed in the disinfecng soluon,
if necessary. However, this should be reserved for rare cases where it is judged by the clinician
that the enre probe has been contaminated. Rinse the probe in dislled, sterile or de-ionized
water. Thoroughly dry the probe using sterile gauze. The probe should be allowed to completely
dry prior to storage.
B-SCAN ADAPTER (ADAPTER-200)—GENERAL CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
CAUTION: The B-Scan adapter cannot be autoclaved.
The B-Scan adapter is not sold sterile, and must be cleaned and disinfected before each use.
Remove the rubber o-ring from inside the adapter. Clean and disinfect both the adapter and o-
ring using FDA and EPA approved cleaning and disinfecon products. The soluons must be
compable with polycarbonate and Kynar plasc. Follow the instrucons on the cleaning and
disinfectant labels.
CLEARSCAN® PROBE COVERS
CAUTION: The ClearScan® is provided sterile. An expiraon date is located on each
ClearScan® package. Verify that the ClearScan® has not expired before use.
ClearScan® covers cannot be reused. Dispose of the ClearScan® cover aer use.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE — PHYSICAL INSPECTION
WARNING: Roune maintenance should not be performed while the device is in use with the
paent. Physical Inspecon should be performed prior to use of the device.
WARNING: Physical inspecon is required to ensure that the device and probe housings
have not been damaged/compromised. Liquid ingress into the device or probes may
cause damage and/or result in an electrical hazard.
Inspecon of the device and its accessories is required to idenfy wear or damage that may be
the result of roune use or accidental misuse. If the device or one of its components looks
compromised, contact DGH Technology, Inc. for informaon on replacement components.
USB INTERFACE MODULE (FLEX-USBIM)
The USB Interface Module should be rounely inspected for dents, cracks and other forms of
damage. Connectors should be inspected for cracks, deformaon, damaged/bent pins, etc.
