Symptom:
PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK
When Monitored and Set Condition:
PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH STUCK
When Monitored: At all times when battery power is supplied to the Body Control
Module.
Set Condition: When the BCM senses a passenger interior door handle switch input on
the passenger Door Switch Mux circuit for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DTC PRESENT
PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED
PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORT TO DRIVER DOOR SWITCH RETURN
BODY CONTROL MODULE - PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 NOTE: When this code is present, the VTSS indicator will stay on solid during the
arming process.
With the DRBIIIt, record and erase DTC’s.
Cycle the ignition switch from ON to OFF to ON.
With the DRBIIIt, read DTC’s.
Lower the driver door window.
Remove the key and operate the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch several
times while monitoring the DRBIIIt.
Wait 10 seconds.
Does the DRBIIIt display PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE SWITCH
STUCK?
All
Yes → Go To 2
No → Check the switch for a binding condition and replace if necessary.
Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the
wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
2 Disconnect the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch connector.
With the DRBIIIt in Sensors, read the PASS DOOR ENTRY voltage.
Is the voltage above 4.75 volts?
All
Yes → Replace the Passenger Interior Door Handle Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No → Go To 3
