Symptom:
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE - TPM
When Monitored and Set Condition:
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE - TPM
When Monitored: Ignition ON. Vehicles speed over 33Km/h (20 mph). Every 60-68
seconds.
Set Condition: When the TPM Module does not receive a transmission from one or more
Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters while the Low Tire Pressure Signal circuit returns to
low for more then three seconds. (Receiver failure in TPM Module and TPM Diagnostic
fault in BCM.)
POSSIBLE CAUSES
NO TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTERS
TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR/TRANSMITTER NOT PROGRAMMED
TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR MODULE FAILURE
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Turn the ignition off.
Inspect all four vehicle wheels for the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters being
present using the Miller tool 9001 RF detector.
Do all wheels have Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters transmitting?
All
Yes → Go To 2
No → Replace and program the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter in
accordance with the Service Information.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
2 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIIIt and special tool 8192, program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module
for all four Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitters.
Without the DRBIIIt connected, road test the vehicle above 33 Km/h (20 mph) for at
least ten minutes.
With the DRBIIIt, read the last 32 transmissions received by the Tire Pressure
Monitor Module.
Does the DRBIIIt display any of the Tire Pressure Sensor/Transmitter ID’s in the
last 32 transmissio
All
Yes → Repair is complete.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
No → Replace and program the Tire Pressure Monitor Module in
accordance with the Service Information.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
