TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIIIt, read the current Body Control Module DTC’s.
Does the DRBIIIt display any Lighting or Ignition switch related DTC’s?
All
Yes → Refer to symptom list for related symptom(s).
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No → Go To 2
2 NOTE: If the complaint is that the chime is on with the driver door open and
key removed, refer to the Chime section in general information and use the
DRBIIIt under BCM I/O’s to verify other inputs are operating properly
before continuing with this test.
With the DRBIIIt, actuate the CHIME. (BCM actuator)
Does chime sound a warning?
All
Yes → Go To 3
No → Refer to symptom Chime Inoperative in the Chime category.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
3 Open the driver door.
With the DRB, in Input/Outputs, read the 9DR DOOR AJAR SW9 state.
Does the DRB display 9DR DOOR AJAR SW: CLOSED9?
All
Yes → Go To 4
No → Refer to symptom list for problems related to Door Ajar.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
4 With the DRBIIIt in BCM Inputs/Outputs, read the Ign Status while inserting the
key in and out of the ignition switch.
Does the DRBIIIt Ign Status display change?
All
Yes → Replace and program the Body Control Module in accordance
with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No → Check the Ignition Lock Cylinder for damage. If OK replace the
Ignition Switch.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
