Symptom:
BCM - PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
BCM - PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT
When Monitored: With the Park Lamps on.
Set Condition: The BCM detects over current on a PWM Dimming Output circuit for 10
seconds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
HVAC CONTROL
RADIO
PANEL LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND - HVAC
PANEL LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND - RADIO
BODY CONTROL MODULE
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 NOTE: The only faults that will set this DTC are the Panel Lamps Dimmer
circuits to the Radio and the HVAC Control, or an internal short in the
Radio or HVAC Control.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIIIt, erase BCM DTCs.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the HVAC Control harness connector.
Actuate the Park Lamps.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIIIt, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIIIt display PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT?
All
Yes Go To 2
No Replace the HVAC Control in accordance with the Service Infor-
mation.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
2 Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIIIt, erase BCM DTCs.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Radio harness connector.
Actuate the Park Lamps.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIIIt, read DTCs.
Does the DRBIIIt display PWM DIMMING OUTPUT SHORT?
All
Yes Go To 3
No Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
