1. Remove the inlet screen only if the debris can not fall into the pump. If the inlet
screen is r
emoved, the pumping speed will increase by maximum 10% for course
and 20% for ne inlet screens.
2. To remove an inlet screen, put it centrally over the CF inlet ange.
3. Apply equal pressure with the ngers around the edge of the screen and push the
inlet screen down.
If the inlet screen is not in a installed posion, the tangs must be snapped into the
locang groove in the inlet ange using a applicable tool to press them into posion.
For ISO anged pumps, we supplies a combinaon inlet screen / trapped O-ring.

WARNING: PUMP SEIZURE
Risk of injury and damag
e to equipment. Do not operate the pump unl it is correctly
installed. If the pump seizes, the stored energy of the rotor can cause fast movement
of the pump, which can cause damage and injury to people.
WARNING: INLET SCREEN
Risk of injury
. The inlet screen is a coarse lter for debris. Do not use the inlet screen
as a nger guard.
WARNING: EJECTED PARTS FROM PUMP
Risk of injury and damag

vulnerable components away from the pump inlet. Failure to do so can cause damage
from the ejected parts if the pump rotor fails.
Obey one of the methods that follows to install the pumps:
Install the pump through its inlet ange to a rigid, rmly xed vacuum system.
Refer to Inlet connecon and orientaon on page 41.
If installaon of the pump is not possible because of the nature of the vacuum
system, install the base of the pump at a rm support. Refer to Base mounng on
page 42 for instrucons on base mounng the pump.
