It is also possible to enter a user-defined Modbus message in the Modbus String
area. See Rosemount 5300 with HART to Modbus Converter for more details
regarding each Modbus protocol.
6. Select Modbus protocol and type the desired Modbus address.
7. Enter the baud rate, parity, and stop bits, then select OK.
8. After changing communication parameters, disconnect the HART modem and wait
at least 60 seconds for the change to take effect. In case the MA/MB terminals are
used for connection to the HART to Modbus Converter (HMC), disconnect the
RS-485 Converter, cycle power to the transmitter and wait up to 60 seconds for the
change to take effect.
5.9.2
Change Modbus communication parameters using a
handheld communicator
The Modbus communication parameters can be changed by entering a text string in the
HART Message parameter.
Prerequisites
Note
To change Modbus communication parameters, the Rosemount 5300 must use HART
address 1, the default address.
Note
After changing communication parameters, disconnect the handheld communicator and
wait up to 60 seconds for the change to take effect.
