5.1 Overview over the operating options
5.1.1 FOUNDATION Fieldbus (FF)
A maximum of 32 transmitters (standard or EEx d) can be connected to the bus. For explosion
protection EEx ia: the maximum number of transmitters depends on the established rules and
standards for interconnecting intrinsically safe circuits (EN 60079-14) with proof of intrinsic safety.

Operation via the service interface:
• with the display and operating unit FHX40
• with the service interface FXA193 (RS232C) or FXA291 and ToF adapter FXA291 (USB) and the
operating program "ToF Tool - FieldTool Package" or "FieldCare".
The FXA193 (RS232C) or FXA291 and ToF adapter FXA291 (USB) can be connected to the
display connector of Gammapilot M or FHX40.
Operation via FOUNDATION Fieldbus:
• with a configuration program, e.g. NI-FBUS Configurator
