7 Maintenance and repairs
7.1 Exterior cleaning
When cleaning the exterior, always use cleaning agents that do not attack the surface of the housing
and the seals.
7.2 Repair
The Endress+Hauser repair concept assumes that repairs to the Gammapilot M are performed by
the Endress+Hauser Service in Endress+Hauser workshops.

7.3 Repairs to Ex-approved devices
When carrying out repairs to Ex-approved devices, please note the following:
• Repairs to Ex-approved devices may only be carried out by Endress+Hauser Service in
Endress+Hauser workshops.
• Comply with the prevailing standards, national Ex-area regulations, safety instructions (XA) and
certificates.
• Only use original spare parts from Endress+Hauser.
• A certified device may only be converted into a different certified device version by
Endress+Hauser Service in Endress+Hauser workshops.
• Document all repair work and conversions.
7.4 Replacement

Caution!
An uploading/download procedure is not permitted for safety-related use of the device.
After a complete device or electronic module has been replaced, the parameters can be downloaded
into the device again via the communication interface. As a prerequisite, the data have to have been
uploaded to the PC beforehand using the "ToF Tool - FieldTool Package/FieldCare".
Level measurement and level limit detection
Measurement can continue without having to carry out a new setup. However, the calibration
values should be checked as soon as possible, since the mounting position may have slightly
changed.
Density and concentration measurement
After the replacement a new setup and calibration must be performed.
