Troubleshooting TOCII CA72TOC
126 Endress+Hauser
Supply water
failure
The pressure sensor
for monitoring the
water supply has
been triggered.
Water pressure < 1 bar
Possible defect:
Pressure monitor,
cable, I/O card
Check the water supply.
Check signal processing (I/O card slot No. 35, switch input I3):
Go to the programming module PRG/TEST/INPUTS/SWITCH
INPUTS. Release the connecting cable on the pressure switch and
short-circuit the contacts. The switch state of input I3 should react
on the display.
If it does, replace the pressure switch. If it does not, use a
multimeter to check that there are no interruptions in the cable.
If the cable is OK, replace the I/O card.
Circuit pressure
high
The pressure sensor
measures a high
pressure in the gas
circuit.
A blockage is forming
in the gas circuit.
Possible defect:
Pressure monitor,
cable, I/O card
Check the gas circuit for blockages. In particular check the acid
filter, water trap, reactor and the heated salt trap if necessary. Has
the gas circuit flow rate fallen below 0.7 l/min? Eliminate the
blockage.
Is the pressure sensor OK?
Go to the programming module PRG/TEST/INPUTS/ANALOG
INPUTS and observe the pressure sequence. Increase the pressure
by manually squeezing the gas circuit hose for dosing. Can a
pressure increase be observed?
Check signal processing (I/O card slot No. 27 frequency input):
Disconnect the modular jack of the pH measurement system from
I/O card slot No. 26 and insert into slot 27. Replace the pressure
sensor if the pressure value changes. If not, replace the I/O card.
Circuit pres. too
high
The pressure sensor
measures too high a
pressure in the gas
circuit.
A blockage has formed
in the gas circuit.
Possible defect:
Pressure monitor,
cable, I/O card
Measured value
> measuring
range
The IR detector
constantly returns a
signal that is larger
than the
specification.
The measured values in the flow of sample are constantly higher
than the measuring device configuration.
When option pre-dilution is installed: Stop of dilution function.
Faulty
adjustment
(adjustment
fault 1)
CO
2
concentrations
measured for stand-
ard C1 or C2 are
above the measuring
range for the IR
detector.
Incorrect standard
solution
Possible defect:
Gas circuit leaking
Replace the standard solutions.
Repeat the adjustment.
Is the gas circuit leak-tight?
Check the gas-tightness of the analyzer.
Faulty
adjustment
(adjustment
fault 2)
Calculated X
0
value
is above the maxi-
mum value permit-
ted for the IR detec-
tor used.
Standard solutions
Check the adjustment values in the maintenance record.
Do one of the two record values deviate from the typical value?
Replace the standard solutions.
Message Cause Tests or remedial action
