Issue 2.0.7.2 September 2021
70 Supervisor
The Software Update menu provides the following information:
• It shows the software version installed on the two partitions. The current
active partition is label with a sign (In the above example Partition 2
is active).
• It allows to swap the active partition (In the above example Partition 1
would become active after the swap).
• It gives installation access to the inactive partition.
In a first step you have to choose the new version file that should be
installed. For the Processing Module the software application file name
has to match the scheme ‘mainframe_<versionIdent>.tar.gz’.
Use the Install Software control and agree to the subsequent dialog to
start the software installation process. If the installation process is
completed, the next Processing Module Reset swaps automatically to
the newly installed version.
Note
Note that the first reboot might take longer than the expected 1
minute.
Note
After software installation and reconnection of the GUI to the
system, the GUI may detect the availability of new firmware to
be installed. This will be indicated by a red diagnosis alert on
the GUI. Follow the alert’s hint and execute a cold start on the
identified devices. After this cold start the firmware of the device
will be updated and the related alert will be gone.
Note
After a regular software installation process, execute one
additional cold start on all PMs of the system (Power OFF->ON)
to ensure proper operation.
