Addressing by
autoprogramming
If a defective slave is removed and replaced by a slave with identical ID and IO
codes and slave address 0, the A S-Interface master will recognize the new
slave when the operating voltages are switched on again and will automati-
cally assign the slave address of the removed slave to the new slave.
Amplification stage The amplification stage influences e.g. the acceleration behaviour of the
drive. The amplification stage should usually be set as specified in the manual
“Drive-specific supplement.” If the po sitioning behaviour is later optimized,
only the cushioning stage should be modified.
AS-Interface
addressing device
The AS-Interface address of a slave is programmed with the programming
device. This only occurs once in an A S-Interface bus and serves as a recogniz-
ing sign. This address is saved in the slave.
AS-Interface slave
in accordance with
profile 7.4
Slaves in accordance with profile 7.4 enable the transmission of parameters
in accordance with profile 7.4. Parameters can be used here for parametrizing
and for controlling the relevant AS-Interface slaves.
AS-Interface
standard slave
The AS-Interface standard slave occupies one address on the AS-Interface.
Due to the address organisation up to 31 A S-Interface standard slaves can
therefore be operated on the A S-Interface.
Cushioning sta g e The positioning behaviour is determined by the amplification and cushioning
stages. The cushioning stage serves for optimizing the approach behaviour
when moving to the end positions.
Drive The term drive is used in this manual for the linear unit (DGP(I)(L)-...), cylinder
(DNC-...) or rotary drive (DS MI).
I Digital input
ID code The ID code provides information on the slave type (e.g. simple I/O module,
intelligent sensor, mot or switch) .
I/O code The I/O code defines how the four data bits from the AS-Interface protocol
aretobeused.TogetherwiththeIDcodeanAS-Interfaceslavecantherefore
be identified clearly.
Nibble An information unit consisting of fo ur bits is c alled a nibble.
