Section 4
Performance Tests
INTRODUCTION 4-1.
The information in the Section 4 describes the performance tests for the key
parameters of the 6080A/AN Synthesized Signal Generator (also referred to
throughout as the "signal generator").
Instrument specifications are used as the performance standard. These closed-case
performance tests may be used as:
An acceptance test upon receipt of the instrument
An indication that repair and/or calibration is required
A performance verification after completing repairs or calibration of the
instrument.
Individual performance tests can also be used as troubleshooting aids.
The signal generator being tested (referred to as UUT the "unit under test") must be
warmed up with all covers in place for at least 2 hours before starting the performance
tests.
Fluke recommends that calibration be performed once a year.
TEST EQUIPMENT 4-2.
Table 4-1 lists the recommended test equipment for the performance tests, adjustment
procedures, and troubleshooting the signal generator. Figure 4-1 shows a two-turn
loop.
