MANTIS User's Guide | Chapter 11: MANTIS Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID)
If your MANTIS includes Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) functionality, you can use
the RFID to access the history of a chip, such as chip usage and dispense information. In
this tutorial, you will learn how to scan RFID chips (either all chips or an individual chip) and
open the chip dispense history.
Prerequisites:
● You have MANTIS which supports RFID.
● You have set up the hardware. See Setting Up the MANTIS on page 44.
Scanning RFID Chips
Scanning RFID chips during Startup
MANTIS now supports automatic RFID scanning during startup. This feature is useful for
you to get the most up to date chip information, especially after setting up new hardware.
To enable or disable this feature, follow these steps:
1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Advanced Options tab and locate the RFID option.
3. On the Scan Inputs During Startup option, select True to activate RFID chip
scanning during startup. To deactivate the scanning, select False.
4. Click OK to apply the changes.
Option Description
Prime Volume Volume used for the priming process.
Pre-Dispense Volume Volume used for the pre-dispensing process.
Primary Wash Volume Volume used for the primary wash process.
Secondary Wash Volume Volume used for the secondary wash process.
Recovery Volume Volume used for the recovery process.
Wash After Dispense Wash behavior after the dispensing process. There are three
kinds of behaviors:
● Plate: The washing process is done after the plate
dispensing process.
● Reagent: The washing process is done after a reagent
has been dispensed.
● Disabled: The washing process is done after a dispense
process is disabled.
