Chapter 7 Installing Internal Options
4 Install an internal hard disk unit in 3.5-inch storage bay.
1. While pulling up the handle, insert the internal hard disk unit in the 3.5-inch storage
bay.
2. Push down the handle and securely insert the disk unit into the bay.
■ How to Remove the Internal Hard Disk Unit
1 Turn off the server and peripheral devices, then unplug the power cables from
the server.

2 Touch a metal part of the server to discharge static electricity.
3 Remove the internal hard disk unit.
With the front tab of the internal hard disk unit to remove pressed, turn the handle upward (1) and
pull the hard disk unit towards you (2). To remove the internal hard disk unit, use both hands to
pull it out.
4 Install a new internal hard disk unit or a dummy unit.
