7.9 Installing a Power Supply Unit
One power supply unit is installed in this server by default. Up to two units can be
installed.
Adding one power supply unit enables you to use the redundant power supply
function.
This section provides notes on adding a power supply unit and explains how to install, remove, and
replace it.
Replace a failed power supply unit as soon as possible.
7.9.1 Where to Install the Power Supply Unit
Install the power supply unit in power supply unit 2.
7.9.2 Available Power Supply Units
The table below shows the power supply unit that can be installed on the server.
• When installing/removing the power supply unit to/from the server, turn off the
server and all peripheral devices ("1.4.3 Turning Off the Server" (pg.33)).
Also unplug all power cables from the power supply unit. Failure to do so may
cause electric shock.
However, if the redundant power supply function is supported, you can replace
a failed power supply unit as the power remains turned on.
• When removing the power supply unit, do not insert your hand into the power
supply unit slot. Doing so may cause electric shock.
