Operation
Ifmessages, dictations or information textsarepresent on the answeringmachine, these will be signa

led by a flashing LED, provided that the answering machine is switched on. Information about the
number of new messages is shown on the display.
New messages that are shorter than 2 seconds will not be stored by the answering ma
-
chine. For example: A caller invited to leave a message hangs up after the announce
-
ment text without actually leaving a message for you.
You can change the volume of the speaker or of the handset while listening to
messages.
To do this, press the menu key followed by the arrow keys. Press ESC in order to return to the normal
display for listening to messages. If you confirm your entry by pressing OK instead of ESC, the perma
-
nently set value is overwritten by the newly set one (see telephone volume settings).
