Remote polling of the answering machine
You can initiate remote access viadtmf post-selection to theanswering machine from any telephone,
in order to listen to messages. Remote polling is possible only via the first number entered into
»MSN-1«.
Remote access to the answering machine is protected by thetelephone PIN andispossi

ble only when remote polling has been activated at the telephone (see page 8).
Operations/ settings possible via remote access:

Remote activation/ deactivation of the answering machine
•
Query for available storagecapacity
•
Listen to new/ old messages or activated information text
•
Delete messages individually
•
Delete all messages
•
Listen to ordelete announcements or record new announcements
•
Activate / Deactivate announcements for a particular number (MSN)
•
Activate / Deactivate orconfigure automatic forwarding(relaying) for recorded messages
Acoustic signals during remote polling
During remote access to the answering machine, you will hear various acoustic signals that inform
you about the current status of individual entries or actions.
Positive acknowledgement
signal (1 long tone):
Your entry has been received and stored by the phone.
Request signal
(2 short beeps):
The phone is waiting for a code number or for a new announ
-
cement.
Negative acknowledgement
signal (4 short beeps):
Incorrect input not accepted by the phone. The code number
you have entered is incorrect or the desired action cannot be
carried out.
For example: activation of an announcement for a number
(MSN) not stored in the telephone directory.
