Using the answering machine from a different telephone
You can use the telephone answering machine jointly with another telephone. When this is done, the
»MSN-10« for yourtelephone isconfigured as a »Voicemailbox« and this made available to the other
telephone as an answering machine. This telephone can then forward calls made to it using the call
forwarding function, or a team variable callmode (with elmeg PABX systems) to this »MSN-10«and,
thus, to the corresponding answering machine.
The following applies after the voice mail function for »MSN-10« and the answering machine have
been configured and activated:
•
No further telephony settings (e.g. tone, volume) possible for »MSN-10«.
•
CallsforMSN-10are signaled only attheanswering machine. Youare notified of the call in the
display.
•
For calls made to »MSN-10« the function »Listen« can not be utilized, nor can the call be ac
-
cepted.
•
Remote controlfunction for the answering machineis activated automatically for »MSN-10«.
You can then listen to or delete messages at the answering machine at a remote location from
the other phone.
•
Messages for »MSN-10« can not be listened to jointly when the answering machine remote
control function continues to be used.
•
The answering machineshould only beswitched off if the voice mailbox forMSN-10is no lon

ger needed. Otherwise switch off the answering machine by de-activating individual MSNsto
allow the voicemailbox for MSN-10 to continue tobe available.
