8 Optional Equipment

8.1 Delay
Delay balances the run time delays in CAT-x cables. These run time delays are
caused by the twisting of the core pairs.
Because of these different lengths the colour signals R, G and B reach the
monitor in different times. The effect of these run time delays is that you see no
harmonic picture but colour shifts which can be compared with convergence
errors at the monitor.
For balancing the run time delays Delay is used and described in chapter
5.4.4.4.
