10.4 External lters to reduce grid harmonics (optional)
ADV200-RHF lters are used to reduce total harmonic distortion (current) on the
power supply line.
The choice of lter depends on the rated characteristics of the motor, on its ser-
vice conditions (LD or HD), and on the performance levels you want to achieve in
terms of line THDi.
The tables in section 10.4.3 show the standard performance for each motor size
as dened by motor tables in efciency class IE2 – High Efciency (according to
standard).
Considering that lters are normally required in HVAC applications, the service
use of the motor (and therefore of the inverter) is always Light Duty.
The following section shows the formula and an example of calculation of line
current starting from motor data. Therefore, you can always select an appropriate
lter for HD service as well.
On RHF-A and RHF-B series lters, input choke inductance is integrated in the lters.
On RHF-AS and RHF-BS series lters, inductance is external and is supplied with
these lters
Drive efciency = 0.975
RHF efciency = 0.99.
