Arrange Mode
The ARRANGE MODE function is listed in the Menu to the left of the display. To gain
access to the Arrange Mode options, press the CURSOR [ ] or [ ] buttons repeatedly
until the arrowhead points to the ARR MODE function in the Menu, then select the
various options with the PAGE [ ] and [ ] buttons.
The 6 ARRANGE MODE options affect the Styles. The first two options, called AUTO
ARRANGE and AUTO BASS, respectively affect the ARRANGE ON/OFF button and
the MANUAL BASS function. The remaining four relate to 4 different Chord recogni-
tion modes which trigger the automatic accompaniment in various different ways: FIN-
GERED 1, FINGERED 2, ONE FINGER and FREESTYLE.
AUTO ARRANGE
This option, when set to ON, permits the deactivated ARRANGE ON/OFF button to be
automatically activated by pressing START/STOP. This feature guarantees that the Style
auto accompaniment is enabled after starting the Style.
PK5 Oriental is factory-programmed to power up with the AUTO ARRANGE function
enabled. When you press START/STOP, the Arrange On/Off button activates automati-
cally.
How to change the status of the Auto Arrange function
With the Auto Arrange option showing after selecting Arrange Mode from the Menu, press the Tempo/
Data +/– buttons to change the On/Off status of the option.
The new Arrange Mode setting remains in memory even after power down.
AUTO BASS
When the sequencer is off, the following possibilities are permitted when AUTO BASS
is set to ON:
If ARRANGE ON/OFF is disabled (LED off) and the LOWER keyboard is off (LED
off), the Manual Bass track plays across the full keyboard.
If ARRANGE ON/OFF is enabled (LED on), the Manual Bass track plays on the
lower part of the split keyboard.
If MANUAL BASS is currently assigned to the keyboard (shown by the “BAS”
display indicator), pressing START/STOP automatically deactivates MANUAL BASS
and re-assigns the Bass track to the auto accompaniments of the Style.
When AUTO BASS is set to OFF, the Bass track of the Style accompaniment cannot be
assigned to the keyboard for Manual Bass playing.
The setting of AUTO BASS is ON by default.
How to change the status of the Auto Bass function
1. After selecting the Arrange Mode function from the Menu, press the PAGE buttons to select the Auto
Bass option.
2. Use the Temp/Data +/– buttons to change the On/Off status of the option.
The new Arrange Mode setting remains in memory even after power down.
